The Lions of Massanutten Foundation, Incorporated (LOMFI) was formed in 1997.
LOMFI is organized and operated exclusively for the benefit of, to perform the function of, or to carry out the purposes of the Massanutten Lions Club of the Lions of Virginia. LOMFI will: solicit, collect and otherwise raise money exclusively for charitable programs and carry on charitable, scientific, literary, or educational activities.
LOMFI will also engage in fund-raising endeavors, in order to raise funds for the this public-supported Section 501(c)(4) organization or for permissible beneficiaries.
The five Directors of the Corporation are the President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Third Vice-President, and Secretary of the Massanutten Lions Club.
The officers of the Corporation must also be members of the Massanutten Lions Club. The officers are President, a Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, each of whom will be elected by the Board of Directors.
Currently the foundation raises funds through running weekly Bingo games and holding an annual Golf Tournament.
In the Lions year 2006-2007 LOMFI made donations in excess of $50,000 to various charitable organizations. 85% of these funds were expended in our local community with the balance going National and International Lions projects.
